Professional Development

The Twitter Professional Development assignment helped me identify and evaluate Twitter as a resource for my classroom and student use. Through this is learned that Twitter would be a great way to formatively assess my students on whatever topic we were learning about. I also learned that Twitter would be a great way to connect with the parents of my students to deliver quick messages. Through this assignment I was also able to assess the advantages and limitations of social media outlets; particularly Twitter. I learned that Twitter has a limited use due to the character restriction. However, it could still be a useful tool in assessing student learning. This assignment also gave me the ability to research and learn about many professional organizations and opportunities available both on line and in person.
